Current Yachts Launches Revolutionary Yacht Brokerage Platform, Disrupts Traditional Commission Model

Annapolis, MD – September 17, 2025 – Current Yachts announced its official launch with a mission to transform the yacht brokerage industry by eliminating excessive commissions and putting consumers first. The company's innovative model is a service-based, patent-pending approach, where traditional 8-10% commission structures are replaced with transparent, flat-rate pricing while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Current Yachts also launched the beta version of a new seller platform designed to shorten the time to list, boost listing quality, and elevate the overall customer experience.

Current Yachts is co-founded by industry experts Amanda Haley of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Maryline Bossar of Annapolis, MD, together with their technical co-founders Jeff Durso and Sean Walsh, seasoned startup founders and developers with the deep know-how, technical expertise, and robust track record in scaling solutions to solve complex problems.

Reimagining Yacht Sales for the Modern Market

Current Yachts addresses long-standing frustrations within the yacht brokerage industry by offering an alternative to commission-heavy traditional models.

The firm's consumer-centric approach delivers significant cost savings to sellers, facilitates faster transactions, and promotes unprecedented transparency throughout the buying and selling process.

"The yacht industry has operated under the same outdated commission model for decades. It was about time we challenged it with a fresh take," said Amanda Haley, co-founder of Current Yachts and employing yacht broker for Current Yachts. "Not only are we offering professional brokerage services at a fraction of the cost,” Haley added, “we’re elevating the standard of our profession by giving our clients the most clarity, itemizing our services and explaining the co-brokerage dynamic."

Another important differentiator of the Current Yachts model is the collaboration of two skill sets with every transaction: a yacht broker and a transaction manager. “This approach will allow the broker to focus on the customer and their vessel sale or yacht search, while the support team will oversee the entire transaction”, explained Maryline Bossar, co-founder of Current Yachts and the marketing lead behind the project.

“We’ve surveyed hundreds of boaters and learned that the lack of urgency is a real concern to them. With our team approach, we expedite every step of the sale or purchase from qualification and showings, to trial runs and surveys, all the way to the settlement table.”

“The seamless communication tools we have built into our process are transforming the yacht sales experience,” Bossar added, “These tools will vastly improve accountability to yacht sellers and streamline the entire transaction from listing to closing”.

Key Advantages of the Current Yachts Model

  • Transparent Flat-Rate Pricing: Current Yachts replaces traditional percentage-based commissions with a predictable selling expense due at closing. Sellers may access the Current Yachts Calculator at https://currentyachts.com/sell/why-list.

  • Professional Service Without Inflated Pricing: Clients receive full access to experienced, licensed yacht brokers, complete transaction management, unique industry insights and guidance including a trusted Marine Directory, and professional marketing services—all without the burden of excessive commissions.

  • Flexible Buyer Commission Structure: Sellers maintain control over whether to offer co-brokerage commissions, likely improving their retained equity. Unrepresented buyers don't generate additional costs for sellers, creating a more efficient marketplace.

  • Advanced Technology Integration: The Current Yachts’ platform features streamlined online listing intake from vessel valuation to online listing agreement signature and payment processing. Additionally, the platform is slated to soon offer real-time performance listing analytics, inquiry and showing feedback,as well as integrated transaction management so buyers and sellers know exactly where they stand in their transactions – and what next steps to expect.
