Current Yachts Announces Treasure Hunt at Annapolis Sailboat Show

ANNAPOLIS, MD – September 24, 2025 – Current Yachts announces the launch of an exciting treasure hunt experience during the 2025 Annapolis Sailboat Show, running Thursday, October 9 through Sunday, October 12. The four-day campaign combines treasure hunting with meaningful charitable giving, featuring over $6,000 in prizes from leading marine industry partners and local businesses, as well as $6,000 in donations to sailing-focused nonprofit organizations.

Adventure Meets Industry Partnership

The treasure hunt invites sailboat show attendees to solve daily clues shared on social media and in person, leading participants through the show grounds and downtown Annapolis. Each day features a completely new set of location-based “treasures”, with participants deciphering latitude and longitude coordinates to locate three daily prizes.

"We're thrilled to bring this unique experience to the Annapolis Sailboat Show," said Maryline Bossar, Current Yachts co-founder and creator of the treasure hunt. "We wanted to offer a fun and engaging way for attendees to explore the boat show and the city of Annapolis. The treasure hunt is a terrific platform as well: not only do our partners get to showcase their incredible products and services, but the nonprofits we support are able to share their mission with more people."

Marine industry leaders who have answered the call and donated exciting prizes include:

Other prizes include gift cards from Annapolis restaurants Harry Browne’s on State Circle, Galway Bay on Maryland Avenue, and Sailor Oyster Bar on West Street.

Charitable Impact Through Sailing Community Support

Beyond its entertainment value, the treasure hunt is bound to have a significant charitable impact. Each of the three daily prize winners will award a $500 donation to one of three local sailing nonprofit organizations:

  • The Downtown Sailing Center (Baltimore) – Urban sailing education and community access including introduction to sailing to at-risk youth, women-focused sailing programs, as well as programs for adaptive sailors

  • Sail Beyond Cancer – Therapeutic sailing programs for cancer patients and survivors

  • CRAB (Chesapeake Region Accessible Boating) – Adaptive sailing opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the greater Chesapeake region

"This campaign represents more than marketing – it's about strengthening the sailing community," noted Bossar. "By connecting the public and our industry partners with meaningful nonprofits, we're investing in the future of sailing while celebrating the sport's inclusive spirit."

Social Media Integration Amplifies Reach

The treasure hunt leverages social media engagement through coordinated content sharing on Current Yachts' Instagram channel, alongside promotional support from retail partners and nonprofit organizations. Daily clues posted each morning will create anticipation and drive both digital and physical show engagement.

Participation and Winner Recognition

The treasure hunt welcomes all sailboat show attendees, with standard exclusions for staff and exhibitors. Winners will redeem prizes at the Current Yachts booth, and select their preferred nonprofit recipient. Participants are eligible for only one prize throughout the four-day event, ensuring broad winner distribution.
