With more than 20 years of experience in yacht refits, new construction oversight, vessel deliveries, and marine inspections, Jim provides comprehensive marine surveying services for both power and sailing vessels throughout the Eastern United States and the Caribbean.

His surveys are designed to deliver clear, reliable assessments of a vessel’s condition through a combination of visual inspections, non-destructive testing, sea trials, and detailed evaluations of onboard systems. Services include hull and structural inspections, moisture and corrosion detection, engine and machinery assessments, electrical and mechanical systems reviews, safety equipment inspections, mast, rigging, and sail evaluations, underwater dive inspections, and refit consultation services.

Drawing on decades of hands-on experience living aboard, operating, delivering, and managing vessels, Jim brings practical knowledge to every survey assignment. His background includes overseeing complex refit and restoration projects, helping owners, buyers, and insurers make informed decisions based on accurate vessel condition reports.

Based between New England and Florida, Jim regularly travels throughout the East Coast and Caribbean to conduct surveys and inspections. In addition to his surveying work, he contributes educational content to the boating community through his partnership with the Yacht Hunters YouTube channel, where he shares industry knowledge and insights with boat owners and enthusiasts.
