Accent Graphics
About
Founded in 1979 by artist Merrilyne Hendrickson, Accent Graphics began as a hand-lettering craft. Hendrickson painted boat names and built signs for local yacht brokers, establishing a reputation for meticulous, custom marine work. More than four decades later, that artisan foundation still defines the shop.
Today, Accent Graphics is owned by Chris Thompson, who joined the company in 2003 and brings a rare blend of fine-art training and technical skill to the trade. A 2008 graduate of the University of Maryland with a BFA in Art, Thompson studied across disciplines: traditional oil painting, drawing, and sculpture, as well as computer-assisted graphics and design. That range lets the shop move fluidly between old-world hand craftsmanship and modern digital production.
The result is a marine signage and graphics provider equally at home lettering a transom by hand or producing precision vinyl and computer-designed work. For boat owners and brokers who care about how a vessel's name and branding are presented, Accent Graphics offers the continuity of a long-established local business paired with genuine artistic credentials. You'll find their shop nested right by the Charthouse in Eastport.
